Recently, users on the Linux.do forum have complained about Tencent CloudBase service, stating that after installation, it automatically generates a cloudbase-rules.md file in the user’s AI tool configuration directory and creates multiple directories such as .cursor, .trae, .windsurf in the home directory, even when these tools are not yet installed. This behavior is seen as contamination of the development environment, causing dissatisfaction among developers. The issue involves Tencent’s cloud services and popular AI tools like Cursor, Gemini, Copilot, etc., reminding users to pay attention to software behavior during installation and serving as a warning to the developer community.
